Mornings

I have a confession; I am a morning person.  I love being up before the sun. Sunrises are the most energizing thing ever! It doesn't matter if it's a foggy summer morning, or a snowy winter one- I love them all! Everything is better in the morning- coffee, food, workouts, to-do lists, and TV! Nothing is better to me than sitting down with a warm breakfast, coffee and my morning news (sometimes the 80s/90s reruns). They say introverts gain energy from working alone, extroverts from working with other people.  What about the people who gain energy from the morning, because that's me.  Flipside- I crash at night and like to go to bed early...womp.  But during the morning, I can look at assingments with fresh eyes, take a fresh perspective on a problem, and most importantly have a fresh drive to accomplish my to-do list.  I think I also gain morning energy from breakfast. Literally, the best meal of the day. I made blueberry crepes today, so I am starting today in a fantastic mood!

Cheesy Future Post

Social media this past week has been filled with those end-of-year reflection posts (as well as a heated debate on marrying young?).  While I didn't necessarily think about the past, I took some time to think about how much is going to change this upcoming year.  I'll be graduating college, landing a job, and possibly moving myself and a little grey horse to Cleveland.  If there was one way to describe my feelings towards this upcoming year, it would be anxious .But,  I am beginning to feel like I can take this year head on and make it my year.  It may be some new profound sense of confidence or it could easily be my new agenda.  I'm thinking it's the agenda- it's about as perfect as it comes (Target, only $15!)  I've always kept my life in the form of an agenda, but none before have been as awesome as this one.  Seeing May 18th circled and starred is a lot less daunting in this new little guy.

Snow!

I woke up to possibly the best thing ever (besides being in my bed at home)! SNOW! Everything was covered in a fluffy heavy blanket of snow! As much as I love summer sun and sweet tea, I also love winter. Get the right coat, boots, and gloves and there is no reason to dislike it. With this snow, it is also totally appropriate to break out the Bean boots.  Nothing makes me happier than having warm toes with some hunting socks and Bean boots. Weather like this is also the perfect excuse to curl up in fleece-lined leggings, enjoy a venti dark roast, and finish up some term papers! And, when I finish working on homework today, I'll get to go see little grey horse. With this snow and my impending brain-deadness, I think I'll have to have a perfect, quiet, snowy trail-ride!

Routine and Comfort

Surprise, I graduate in a few months! Four years ago I was in the exact same place I am now- comfortable.  I have my daily routine and know exactly what I am doing for the next week.  But, I don't know what I'm doing past May.  I never really prepared myself for the new territory of college, so it was a shock to my system whenever I got here.  Three years later, I am settled into my life on campus.  But that is coming to an end.  So, to prepare myself for post-grad life, I am working to push my comfort zone and do things I wouldn't usually do, like get a fur vest (faux, of course), and make a blog! I want to keep some form of record of my dwindling undergrad days, so when I'm probably in a panic in a year, I can look back and see how I've grown.
